linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Reminder for Windows 10 users who can't upgrade to Windows 11
2·1 year agoMine was when they have windows 8 out for free for a limited time. Then I wasn’t able to go back to 7 somehow. Was already into linux by then. That just made me commit 100%. Gamer, CAD user, but still haven’t looked back.
Ok now I’m looking for kits. I bought the lowest tier Jackson warrior and you get what you pay for. I should’ve gone higher up the product list.
Ngl a diy guitar kit looks like a fun project.
Finish the joke Bart. … They ruined Linxland
They need a third image of someone at a Waffle House holding a pistol.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux Mint 22 is ready. The release date will be announced this week
17·1 year agoMint for years but i forget. In the updates make sure fully updated first. Then i remember some sort of upgrade command.
Im not much help but i think i did it once. Or you can preserve your home folder, broweser bookmarks, etc… the load the new os from scratch, but im sure theres an upgrade option.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Hey does anyone know how to get microsoft suite apps on linux?
132·2 years agolibre office not being a smart arse either. it’s the easiest way. i am making some assumptions however. i assume you are a full on Linux user at home and have to deal with MS Office documents of various types at work or some other reason. you can work on that document at work un MS Office. bring it home and work on it some more in libre office. and back again.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•cause no one asks you for tech support if you still running windows XP
131·2 years agoi used to tweak windows to look like Linux.
you mean move the task bar to the side or top?
yep. and a wallpaper too.

Every situation is different. I used to pc game from 90s on. I now just steam some games, console and VR the rest. CAD is done with FreeCAD, GIMP / 'shop, I only solo play games. My few friends from 40 years ago just do board games and disc golf.
Again situations are different. What i stated is accurate in my case.
