20·21 days agoLetsEncrypt only does level one (domain validated certificates), it doesn’t offer organisation or extended validation.
Basically they only prove you control example.com, they don’t prove you are example PLC.

13·22 days agoor have users earn additional votes for receiving positive votes on their comments
I found the slashdot system worse than the reddit/lemmy system, if you commented anything that offended the hive mind you got downvoted into oblivion and lost the ability to vote, which obviously ended up reinforcing the hive mind.

I think oracle and a few others still offer a free vps to start with.

Yeah, there was confusion (and accusations I was spreading misinformation) because zip is still running 1.6.0-dev, with the old wording. While the new wording on .social running 1.6.1 seems like a needed improvement.

51·2 months agoPersonally I think IPFS or similar will be a better solution to decentralised video, federation seems inefficient for it, but I’ll be happy to be proven wrong.
Shame the US gov killed LBRY, that seemed kinda promising too.










I only know about this because of zero escape lol.
