I agree but I think it’s alright to have rescued pets. Would be better if they didn’t need to be rescued but that’s the way it is.

I agree that Skibidi was trash. But 6 7 is honestly kinda funny because no one really gets it, it’s not annoying and you can sneak it into regular conversations without notice, while anyone who’s in on it can have a giggle. That’s true internet culture if you ask me.
I try not to be too judgmental because it’s just a new internet generation and I’m old.

Occasionally there is still some meme that stands out and lasts for a few weeks or more. See Skibidi Toilet or 6 7. But mostly it became much less interesting because everything is monetized now.
Most of the ones you mentioned were before 2010. I believe internet culture started dying with Gangnam Style. That’s when thing have gone mainstream and not an inside joke anymore.
But yes, real world events also kinda ruined everything.

Just recently I was driving down a road, it was sunset and the whole sky was just a very bright yellow like I’ve never seen before. With the black mountains (because the sun was behind) in the background as contrast it looked so amazing I thought „Damn you nature, you’re distracting me from driving!“. And because I was driving I couldn’t even snap a picture! People would say I photoshopped it anyways.
As for comparisons to gasoline, I’d be leaving the tank empty so that’s not a concern for me.
You would carry around a whole combustion engine just to leave it empty?? Wtf that’s even more waistful and inefficient. Get an older EV with a small battery if you’re so allergic to it.
Battery fires are not catastrophic, it just takes a different approach to deal with it and we already know how.

Sure I care but what can I do besides voting?

I fear being a nuisance to anybody so I rarely ask for help, even if it’s their job. 6/10 for that, it has improved.
If it’s just for the sake of being social, then it’s a 9/10. If I don’t have obvious common ground with people it’s nearly impossible for me.
Few years back I was invited to a party of a friend where I knew no one but her (and she was super busy). The people there were just so different to me, I could not find a conversation starter and was honestly not really interested in their lives anyways. It was a horrible time and I left early.
But somehow, once I find the right hook I can be quite charming and funny and even sometimes the center of attention, even around strangers. 2/10. It really depends on the situation, vibe and people.
But even if it’s going very well, my social battery runs low after some hours and I need alone time. The less effort I need to put in the longer I can go.

Maybe the shortage was not real but imagine what would happen if it were. Rationing? Communists!

I don’t think resources would be plenty. Then look at Covid and how people behaved when toilet paper was suddenly a luxury. And then we at least had a somewhat functioning government.

I’m usually friendly but in a scenario like this it’s better to be very cautious of people.

If you manage to convert just one or two others to the cause, it’s a win already. If not, at least you are not part of the problem.
And for many of the things you listed I see a lot of progress compared to even 10 years in the past. Slow but steady.

If I understand it correctly, you’re worried about hurting Sues feelings. Talk with Sue then.

I’m very happy with Things. Been using it for 7 years with an occasional dip into Todoist and Apple Reminders just out of interest, but always coming back to Things.
It fits exactly how my brain works. The only annoyance is that I cannot tick off recurring tasks before they are scheduled.

I don’t remember any of that. When my teachers would have to speak with the office (which was rare), they would go there.

Not sure what memes you are referring to. Sometimes I sit or lie in bed for a bit to get my thoughts in order, process my weird dream, listen to the birds or just enjoy not having to be in a hurry. Sometimes I just want to postpone standing up because I know I will have to sit in front of the damn computer all day again. Sometimes I stand up immediately.

Very insightful…

Representative of whole Europe here, I’m paying 3 euros a month for the 5G upgrade.
Ahh the times when internet cost one kidney per minute.

Wait a few months or even a year. Go on with your life. If you still want it then, buy it. Also a good way to put money on the side for this specific item, then it will hurt less.
The EU is not a big enough market to justify a whole new, free iOS browser with a different engine that doesn’t work elsewhere. Which is why this EU policy was effectively useless.
