  • 2001 I think. I don’t know if this person actually had to leave for legal reasons, either because he broke a bad law or because he was facing real sex crimes allegations, or because he violated a taboo and was chased out. The rumor, as I heard it, was that he was in the middle of a consensual encounter with a young woman when he decided to try some butt stuff and then authorities got involved somehow. I remember him apologizing to the council and resigning, and I distinctly remember that he omitted the reason for it all, as if we all already knew. The rumor didn’t make it to me until later.

    • Trillbilly Worker’s Party - Kentucky-centric Marxist jokers hanging out. They always know how to put a smile on my face, even if they’re talking about bleak stuff.
    • Fun City - Well produced live role playing of Shadowrun. The game is a few years in and I am just invested.
    • ALAB - Lawyers talking shit. They’re funny and I like learning about interesting cases. One of the characters they covered actually sued them and settled for an interview on the show.
    • Desert Oracle Radio - Joshua Tree-centric paranormal stuff. Good for an old X-Files head like me.

I think Yunohost is great. It was easier for me to set up that trying to figure out Docker. I run a few sites including AdGuard Home as well as personal Pixelfed and Lemmy instances with it in a VM on an older Ubuntu box. That said, I’m stuck on Lemmy 0.18.2 without pict-rs because the update script to the latest version available on Yunohost (0.18.3 with pict-rs) is broken. Oh well!

  • Latinx doesn’t work and it’s embarrassing to force it. Latine at least kind of sounds right, but what are we doing here? If you’re speaking English and don’t want to say Latino or Latina, you can just say Latin American. In Spanish if an individual says they want to be referred to as latine then you should respect that. Otherwise, latinos is fine for a mixed gender group.
