For indexers, I have DrunkenSlug, nzbgeek, and nzbplanet. My backbone providers are UsenetExpress, FrugalUsenet, and Giganews. You can use https://whatsmyuse.net to make sure you don’t have overlapping backbones.

The main benefit is that you don’t need to use a VPN, so you get full download speeds. Also the availability and download speed isn’t dependent on seeders, so more obscure content tends to survive longer on Usenet.

Usenet, while way better than torrenting, still requires multiple indexers and providers for this reason. I have 3 of each and rarely ever run into this issue except for very niche releases.

I got a NUC on ebay for about the same price, maybe a little less. Has more I/O and an SSD.

Guess it must be that they feel comfortable sharing their views here unlike in real life. I’m all for it, if that’s the case. People should be able to express themselves.

Sure! I have three, in different spots in different gardens. I do find them to be pretty darn accurate, especially if you calibrate them like the instructions say. I don’t have anything to compare them to, but their data makes pretty graphs in home assistant and their backend.

Hey there, I have an Ecowitt system. I use it to tell me when to close the curtains based on sunlight, use it to tell me when to open or close the windows, and I also have some of their soil moisture sensors in my garden to tell me when to water. I plan on expanding that last one to an automatic irrigation system!

The one catch is that you’ll want to lock it down on Ecowitt’s site, otherwise other people can see your sensors.
