I’ve been posting more often lately. I’m doing my part, soldier!

44·23 days agoIt gets quite silly when you blame the entire dev community for supposedly downvoting you over ideals rather than being overly strict about them. I also prefer HTML-first and think it should be the norm, but I draw the line somewhere reasonable.
I can’t get to that page, so I asked a question
Yeah, and you can run the innocuous JS or figure out what it is from the URL. You’re tying your own hands while dishing it out to everyone else.

44·23 days agoNot idol worship, rather, it’s silly to complain about JS when tools like NoScript allow you to selectively choose what runs instead of guessing what it is. It’s simply a documentation page like it says on the URL. I mean, they’re incredibly tame on the danger scale to leave your guard all the way up and instead take a jab at the entire community that had nothing to do with your personal choices.

Ya mum’s bum.
I will continue to downvote until morale improves.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Are there any Lemmy/Mbin instances by women for women?English
21·8 months agoThis is not about arguments, bro. Or which ones do you mean? And safe spaces are meant to be non-confrontational. You can disagree, but you do it respectfully, without smug attitudes.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Are there any Lemmy/Mbin instances by women for women?English
54·8 months agoPfft, I’d say overly aggressive to a fault. It’s not a good thing when they’re banning people for a passing comment where the worst offence is “gatekeeping” rather than something that matters.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Are there any Lemmy/Mbin instances by women for women?English
91·8 months agoIt’s the sexist comments, boomer humor, male-centric views, the mansplaining, the chauvinism, the micro-aggressions, lack of empathy from a lack of perspective, the oversimplification without nuance, etc. All that generally makes women uncomfortable and sometimes it’s a bit much. Sometimes you want to forget those exist and focus on what matters to you with like-minded people.
It’s the same for us gay folks. I know I can’t just bring up whatever gay topic in a straight group where not everyone can relate, offer their first hand experience, or might find it weird because it’s not part of their lives.
Trying to concentrate similar people to discuss common topics is, at the very worst, a constructive division.

2·9 months agoI agree. Discussing politics should require some form of age verification! Reading the myopic takes are enough torture on their own, let alone having to contend with them.
(Yes, this is hyperbole. If y’all come for me I’ll laugh really hard at you.)

Here’s one instance for Mexico https://mujico.org/ and I think there was one for one other SA country.

11·10 months agoHeld hands? No. Not everyone has the time, energy or training to evaluate a site’s trust comprehensively. I want to see what other people think in case they spot what I missed. I also want to see if people are even taking about the site and why.
I mean, can you imagine? There are so many sites out there I can’t spend three hours fact-checking one for the sake of replying to an argument. And then all that work going to waste for the benefit of nobody else.
No, but I am. Your lunch break ended five minutes ago. Get back to memeing. Chop chop!
