What’s the point of a linux community if you cant ask these kinds of questions? A pinned post like that would get stale over time. You are free to just keep scrolling. You also didn’t answer the question…so you contributed nothing except to complain about my post.

Not really, i grew up in the AOL era, so for me it was chat rooms, and sometimes (but not often) actual forums. Then it was myspace after that.

Realistically, what could a company do with the data? I can see how it could be dangerous in the hands of a nation state if someone is a politician. But otherwise, besides the gross privacy violation, im not sure I see what real harm will come of this.

Science is an imprecise art form. You have to do it with gusto. I think you did good.

I don’t think removing a corporation from existence would fix anything. We have a capitalist system killing the planet that has been extended to basically every country on the planet thanks to U.S. hegemony (which thankfully is coming to an end)

On the internet, you’re not likely to change their mind, like at all. But in person, if you can connect with someone and bring it back to family, and community, you can slowly change someone’s mind and show them that they’ve been lied too. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it can be done.

On the interwebs, don’t even bother.
