If you’re in a place with bad drinking water, first you should use one of those water purification tablets, then put the water through a Brita filter to get rid of the tablet’s taste.

I once got detention for “hacking.” All the school computers were on the same network, so if you opened Computer Management, then selected a different computer on the network, you could… get this… eject the disc drive on unsuspecting people. They’d be on their computer, 15 feet away, and then I’d click a button and their disc drive would eject, momentarily confusing them.

Librarian saw me using the “My Computer” folder to get to Computer Management, apparently that was proof enough. How is using available folders on the computer “hacking”? I have no idea, didn’t seem to be relevant.

I’ve watched far too many hours of sitcoms, because I’m recognizing a specific laugh that gets re-used over and over. It’s by far the worst on How I Met Your Mother (where I first noticed it). They’ll repeat the same laugh 2-3 times within the same episode. It’s a specific high-pitched laugh that almost sounds like the person is inhaling while laughing rather than exhaling. HIMYM doesn’t use a live audience so they re-use the same laughs for the entire run of the show.

They do this for all new accounts now. They let you make an account and use the site for a day or two and then start requesting personal info like drivers license. The scan of your face will be used to see if you appear in the background of other people’s photos. Giving you new friend suggestions, and generally increasing the amount of time you use the site. But it’s also about them harvesting as much info from you as possible, because that’s what they’re selling.

As a depressed 16 year old boy I received a self help book from my mother. I was offended. Never opened the book. Like in hindsight I guess she thought I needed help and the book would somehow do that, but all I saw was that my mother thought something was wrong with me.
