Linux will never become relevant on the desktop until its has better spyware support.

I am the smug well guy in this picture. You can complain and whine about Microsoft’s shitty practices to people who have no way of effecting them…oooorr you can use a different OS. Kind of a “better to light a candle than to curse the darkness” deal.
Proprieatary software has become completely unusable, programs that would have been labeled adware and spyware are now being pushed by corporations as the norm. I use open source software in my workflow, but I am still hobbled by Microsoft’s awful OS.

Affinity suite is dirt cheap and is a single purchase, none of that licensing crap.
The Windows ecosystem is an abominable pile of half-finished apps and dark patterns that should be slam dunked into the trash. The problem is in the leadership that is laser-focused on milking business users who are used to Microsoft’s abusive practices.
Why? The browser client is ok.
I use gimp for professional graphic design at my workplace, nobody gives a shit.
Steam is a nice service but good god the glazing needs to stop. On Steam you do not own your games.
