If this metal thingy is anything like the one used as dust covers inside PC cases it’ll just bend (I’ve actually tried to use one as a bottle opener).

Nah I’m depressed but still curious af
This. I didn’t spend nearly 1000 bucks on hardware that ensures that I basically spend more time on the POST screen than on the rest of the entire boot sequence to keep the thing on 24/7
I keep joking that we should make video games mandatory for millionaires when this subject comes up but I legit think that playing some grindy game or management games would make this type of people less greedy to some degree, because at their core they appeal to our seemingly primal urge of always hoarding more resources.
It’s not uncommon to see people expressing disdain for other distros. I feel like it’s tongue in cheek 99% of the time though
Wait there’s a free and easy GitHub script ? I bought an OEM key for 2 bucks like a sucker
I would pay money to see daddy Linus flip off some big shot intelligence official
Yeah they usually have the most dramatic impact on games that have bad CPU optimization, which is a lot of them tbh
I think the 5700x3d is the first one they made, iirc it outperformed even the high end CPUs from the next generation in quite a few benchmarks, but probably not the 7000 gen. If you want to keep the possibility of upgrading, I would advise against the 5700x3d because that’s basically already the best for this socket. By all accounts it’s great value for its price though.
You should try to go for a Ryzen “3D” variant with extra cache if you can spare the extra money, it works wonders on some games. I’ve had no issues with mine (7900x3d) so far on Linux
Currently it’s a grey area I think
Whenever I see someone doing that I can’t help but question their sanity
Best I can do is Magic Mike. Can’t think of any men’s clothes brand that targets women with its advertising, let alone an underwear brand.
Yeah, the carefree mood of preproduction is definitely the best part
Also it really fucks with some peripherals. I even had a motherboard with RGB lights (don’t judge me, it was actually cheaper than the “normie” version I originally wanted) that didn’t turn off the lights and the fans because of this shitty feature. I never got around to investigating who was doing things wrong between Microsoft and the manufacturer in this case though, I just got into the habit of holding shift while clicking the shutdown button.
I have never volunteered to count or observe elections. However I am a professional programmer, and I absolutely agree, electronic voting opens up tons of new attacks, whereas paper voting “security” is basically a solved problem at this point
Nothing about game development is “easy”
They are very precise, cover the whole french territory, are all in the same format, follow the same standards and the paper maps are not too expensive. There are topographical maps at a 1:25000 scale, and roadmaps at a 1:250000 scale. And these paper maps are as sturdy as they can be, my dad has been rocking some of them for almost his entire life.
I guess I just get too excited about state funded institutions that provide good service to the public and still exist in 2024. Them paper maps can really be a lifesaver when you’re hiking in the more remote parts of France though
Also IGN (Institut géographique national) maps are amazing
Was it some vendor’s prebuilt PC maybe ? Those can have some weird parts that can be hard to get to work properly on Linux.
The “without an MS account” is the hard part. Don’t you have to basically use a hidden debug feature to actually do that on install in windows 11 ? And then if it’s anything like windows 10, they might trick you into tying the OS to your account if you log into it for visual studio/office/Windows store or whatever, that happened to me on my laptop and it was a major pain in the ass to revert
