I’m cool with AppImage as well, they just work.

7·10 months agoNow that sounds like the perfect replacement for Pokémon Go for me, which means it’s an app I’ll install as a way to motivate me to go walk outside and then feel guilty because I just don’t.
It’s certainly been gaining some momentum lately. Just within the past year I saw this channel coming out of nowhere with some videos about Linux, this famous animator finally getting rid of Windows and Adobe and also this guy talking about it.
Get a room!

Fediverse@lemmy.world•jointhefediverse.net - Why was Lemmy removed from the list of fediverse alternatives?English
3·1 year agoIt’s a shame kbin.social is no more. I guess Fedia.io is as big as it gets now.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What’s the difference between Mastodon, Bluesky, and Misskey?English
21·1 year agoAs far as I’m aware, the big “problem” with Mastodon (and the Fediverse as a whole) is that you have to choose an instance to join. It’s an aditional step that mainstream social media does not have and it’s already enough to push regular people away. It’s kinda like trying to convince a Windows user to jump ship to Linux, by the time you begin explaining what a distro is you’ve already lost them.

26·1 year agoYt-dlp. It’s basically the only way I download music nowadays.
They’re talking about Dungeons & Dragons, it’s kind of a tabletop game where one player (the Dungeon Master, or DM) basically creates adventures for the other players. It’s very nerdy but very fun and also takes a lot of time.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Mozilla Senior Director of Content explained why Mozilla has taken an interest in the fediverse and MastodonEnglish
0·2 years agoIt seems to me they’re saying Lemmy needs corporate backing to grow? Cause if they were so bothered by the opinions of the Lemmy devs they could simply use Kbin instead.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was a profound moment that a video game caused you to experience, and why?
1·2 years agoThat moment hits very hard. I knew what the game was about and it still destroyed me.
Why? SteamOS is based on Arch, it belongs here. I think a ship should probably be something like Android.
