Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What brings you joy and happiness or, what are you passionate about?
10·4 months agoPhilosophizing. Programming and finally accomplish that very difficult task. Reading an unexpected revelation or an incredible quote in a book.
When I figured this stuff out, on my own, it was the greatest feeling in the world.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If we had to torture and murder millions of innocent children to stop global warming would that be okay?
232·4 months agoOP, whatever you are on, don’t use it ever again. There is no reason to think that torturing and killing kids will solve global warming. In short, it is a useless hypothetical that adds nothing to the discussion about solving the problem. Meaning it useless, while you get to pretend that you are somehow smart. Newsflash: you are not.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•This time I will ask, what do you think the future will be like, that is, 2030+, how interesting will everything be?
1·5 months agoIt is going to suck, most likely. There might be a high probability of shortage of critical resources like water, food due to global warming. Also global warming might increase the likelihood of extreme natural events like floods, droughts, etc. So yeah, it is going to be pretty shit, imo.
History is littered with bones of empires who thought themselves eternal.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which Video Game was most influential on you as a child, and why?
3·6 months agoJohn Marston before RDR was a terrible person and he was trying run away from his past. He was, eventually, forced to confront his past, specifically to save his family. Of course, he was killed regardless. Despite wanting to redeem himself and living peacefully with his family, he met a violent end. Almost as if the world saying that there is no redemption for him. This story really made me appreciate stories in general and flawed protagonists like John Marston. Perhaps, the story taught me how pointless ‘regret’ is. John had very little control over his life and his death. He couldn’t change his past, nor control his future, which hurt me really deeply. But this is true for everyone of us. And I have learnt not to regret the past. “World might not forgive you for your past mistakes, but you still can forgive yourself.” is my goto mantra.

15·6 months agoAlthough, I believe we can educate people about the truths of AI, but I am scared to trust the corporations or the governments with it.
Although, I can recommend a book called AI Snakeoil by Arvind Narayanan and Sayash Kapoor, which is written for a layman that might help to understand limitations of AI.
Zaytoon is also used in urdu and hindi.
