Some time ago, I tried Ubuntu for the first time. I was shocked that the preinstalled Firefox (snap package) took 10 seconds to launch, compared to 1-2 seconds on Windows.
61·1 year agoMy RPi4 refused to start with a 2x2.5" hard drive, so I did some workarounds. I connected the USB 3.0 +5V pin to the GPIO and powered the RPi using a PD trigger with MINI 560 (5A DC-DC converter). In my case, a random 18W QC brick was enough.
21·1 year agoYt-dlp still works for me on Android, but only for h264 videos. When I try to download VP9, I get an error.

They just don’t want to. Now they can stop releasing security patches and users would buy new hardware.
I’m running Gnome 46 on i3 3217U with 4GB RAM. Works so smooth, maybe even better than Cinnamon. SSD makes all the difference.

To find out my real IP address, you need to contact a hosting provider that is registered in a country with laws that allow it not to cooperate with authorities.
But if the server is located in a piracy-friendly country, doesn’t that solve the problem?
I am selfhosting VPN for 2.49$ a month. Speed is up to 700 mbps in my case and I have additional services like PiHole + unbound.

The light bulb form factor was created hundreds of years ago for incandescent light bulbs. In this form factor, it is impossible to properly cool the LEDs. I used 12 pieces of Yeelight Pro 8W in a 10 m² room, and this room was as bright as the sky.
