Hi there!
Irish Stew with pickled red cabbage on top.
Because I’m lazy and wanted to make something good that’d last a few days.

Functionally it may be different, but if I’m sat at a table with another user, next to a criminal gun salesman and their customer, the salesman passes me a gun, and I pass the gun to the other user, who then passes it to the customer, am I not just as guilty of facilitating that illegal exchange?
I understand that one could try to make that argument aimed at an ISP or internet infrastructure in general, but in this case the added element is that we are individuals, we know people are often using these services for illicit means, and we still choose to facilitate their use.
Honestly I don’t know if I agree with my own argument 100%, but it’s something someone could argue, and it’s worth some thought before deciding to become a part of that shadowy community. Especially knowing there’s a good chance at some point you’re a willing link in the chain for criminal activity, even if it probably can’t be traced back to you.
Hmm, food for thought I suppose.

I’m sure Linux is great with headphones too, but is there really a widespread issue with them in Windows?
Obviously it’s not difficult to “recognise” a headset plugged into the 3.5mm jack, so I’m presuming the author means Bluetooth.
In general, I’ve been very impressed with the improved audio system and controls between Win10 & 11, it needed a big upgrade and we got it. Similarly, Bluetooth UI and ease of use has shot up too. The old Bluetooth UI was awful.
I use various Bluetooth audio devices daily, as well as 3.5mm audio stuff, and have various needs for routing and altering audio with virtual audio cables, etc, and it all works flawlessly for me.
I’m just one person though, not really a great sample size!
Anyway, I’m surprised to hear there’s a widespread issue with Bluetooth audio in Windows 11, given how standardised and widely used everything is these days. You’d think that’d be ironed out reasonably quickly, lest hundreds of millions of people struggle :-(

Yeah, I have a lot of fun with Meshtastic.
There’s hundreds and hundreds of nodes across my region, I can talk to other cities, which is fun :-D
I love seeing how far I can make a direct connection too, surprising the crazy range on these little guys if they’re up high enough!

If they “can’t do anything” on their own service then how can they be trusted at all?
They’re either lying outright, or are so deeply incompetent that they don’t know how their own software works and can’t touch it to try to resolve a problem for fear of breaking something.
Your ISP can read any text message you send and view metadata logs of any phone calls you make. In lots of places (like Australia where I live) ISPs are actually required to keep logs of your messages and phone calls
Why would my Internet Service Provider have anything whatsoever to do with my dumb phone?
Yes, texts and calls aren’t hidden from your mobile phone provider, they never were. I agree it’s not great, and the government is likely spying on you as they have been for decades.
But alas, I don’t see a solution without using a non dumb phone and encrypted apps, which will require the internet and at that point you’ve not got a dumb phone any more.
My Nokia 3310 still works great. Sure, the government could spy on me, but I don’t discuss anything sensitive over the phone (traditionally one doesn’t, for this very reason, wiretaps and the like). It’s a tool for casually staying in touch and arranging to meet up _

Is a C-Party one of those sexy sex terms that people who are hip sexy swingers would understand

hahaha good onion article can you imagine if this really happened haha
r…right?
I’ve never actually seen a display port cable, so if there was one in the back of a PC I had to pull out, I’d initially treat it like a HDMI cable and just pull it out.
It doesn’t look like it has screws, so if it has some way of locking in place it must be sneaky about it right?

My TV doesn’t have a Jellyfin app, only a Plex app. I’m not buying a new TV just to use my preferred media server, sadly :-(

This is an Art Attack,
My parents are absolutely fantastic, they will always listen, do anything possible to help me in any way, and only ever think of what’s best for their kids.
They are calm, considerate, reasonable, smart, loving, and a great team.
I will never meet anybody else as fantastic human beings as them.
I can’t imagine having parents that are awful people, that must be such a terrible burden and impediment to healthy growth for a child :-(

Alas my TV (LG WebOS 2) doesn’t have an application for Jellyfin, or I’d have switched years ago :-(
It’s about time! I’ve wanted to buy a European for years but never knew where to look
Fascinating and bizarre, has he published any print books on this subject that I could pick up?
I don’t use Skype for business, I use it for the video calls and for the ability to have international VOIP numbers that I can ring from/to, and send texts and stuff.
Not sure what service I’ll migrate to once this is gone, I guess I’ll lose my numbers too :-(

There is no point, we don’t exist for a reason, we’re just a thing that happened in the universe by random chance.
That’s not an inherently bad thing though, heck, the concept of “bad” isn’t even “real”, it’s just an invention we came up with.
But I digress. We must find out own purpose and meaning in life, it won’t be handed to us. Think of the journey as a fun ride with no rules, there are no gods, the universe doesn’t judge you, you are unique and weird and amazing and can interact with the universe in ways no gigantic star or powerful black hole ever could.

Boost, it was the perfect Reddit client for me and now it’s the perfect Lemmy client, I didn’t have to sacrifice any aspect of the experience.
God I love you, Boost my beloved 😍
I’m on Android. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I give Steve Jobs a penny.
I wanted to keep using Boost, and they banned third party applications from Reddit.
Especially annoying given that their own application was awful and at times unusable with whole features completely missing.
