  • Euouae

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euouae

Euouae (/juː.ˈuː.iː/; sometimes spelled Evovae)[1] is an abbreviation used as a musical mnemonic in Latin psalters and other liturgical books of the Roman Rite. It stands for the syllables of the Latin words saeculorum Amen, taken from the Gloria Patri, a Christian doxology that concludes with the phrase in saecula saeculorum. Amen. The mnemonic is used to notate the variable melodic endings (differentiae) of psalm tones in Gregorian chant.

In some cases, the letters of Euouae may be further abbreviated to E—E.[2] A few books of English chant (notably Burgess and Palmer’s The Plainchant Gradual) make use of oioueae for the equivalent English phrase, “world without end. Amen”.

According to Guinness World Records, Euouae is the longest word in the English language consisting only of vowels, and also the English word with the most consecutive vowels.[3] As a mnemonic originating from Latin, it is unclear that it should count as an English word; however, it is found in the unabridged Collins English Dictionary.[4]

  • S24:

UI not confusing at all imo, just your typical Samsung Android. And obviously not slow since it’s a flagship phone

    No ads

Not really bloated (comes with Samsung’s own apps + Google’s apps but you can uninstall most of them)

    Decently fast updates

7 years software support (not only security updates but also 7 years of new Android updates)

Wouldn’t say 4000 mAh 50 MP sounds that fancy, but it works very well (lots of optimisation for the battery and good software for the camera)

    Downside: expensive (~600€ new currently)

  • That’s just crazy… When I’m sick I’m getting paid leave - when coming to work and they notice I’m sick they’ll send me home. This even makes sense from a 100% capitalist perspective, because it costs less to pay one person to stay at home and recover as quickly as possible than to have them spread their infection, making everyone less productive, but at the same time keeping everyone at work, greatly slowing down the recovery.

Vacation also is known to be net positive since even just one week or just a few days off every ~2 months greatly increases productivity and prevents burnouts. It’s like weekends but more extreme. You wouldn’t want someone who probably already is stressed because they have to catch up after being sick to also lose their vacation.

Those US-american laws don’t even make sense from the USA’s system’s 100% money focused view.

  • I’m atheist but that’s not one of the reasons for it since you can explain it logically. The usual case here is that there can’t be good without evil (either there are both or everything is the same).

Example experience from my life: You eat great food at a restaurant every now and then. Then you join the military and eat bad food every day. After a while the bad food becomes normal, and when you’re at home and just cook something that was normal before it’s great.

If everything just is great, nothing is great anymore. If everything is good, nothing is good.
