4wd is not a luxury one can afford on a $5k CAD budget. Snow tires and driving slow are enough to navigate our winters.

Japanese car with under 60k miles is going to be well over $5k. Considering these things can go well over 400,000km with proper maintenance, finding one in the mid 200s would be fine

The part about honey is a complete misread of the facts. There were posts on the LTT forum about honey scamming creators, and Linus himself said that within the creator community he thought the news got around enough to not warrant a video about it.
So many linux people have a hate boner for the guy because he’s got a prickly personality and makes videos for the unwashed masses, but he still has integrity.

rbesfe@lemmy.cato Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What industry secret are you aware of that most people aren't?127·1 year agoBuilding HVAC engineering (equipment sizing, ducting design, etc.) has been largely handwavy bullshit for a very long time and only recently has moved towards any sort of precision. Not uncommon to find boiler plants that are 3-4 times the maximum heating load in the winter, or fans running at 100% 24/7 when code only requires half of that.
Costs just get passed on to tenants so there was never much motivation to do better, the only reason building owners are moving now is because of government regulation and incentive programs.
