The idea that fascists might still be wearing America’s corpse long after it’s dead does not in fact make me feel any better. Honestly, I doubt they’ll be able to keep it together anywhere near that long, but it might last longer than I do, which is bad enough. I get that the official Arch forums are a cesspool, but outside of that I see about a thousand times more people complaining about Arch users than I do actual toxic Arch users. It’s getting kinda tedious and unfunny at this point.
Ramen is most commonly sold in sealed plastic bags in America. We just cook it in a pot like any other pasta. Lots of people I know don’t own any kind of kettle. If they need to boil water a pot or the microwave both work just fine.
Personally, I like tea, but I also have an induction cooktop, so I just have a kettle for that. It’s great. All the advantages of an electric kettle without having to put an electrical appliance by my sink.
Yeah, and using those is pretty good, but they don’t really do anything you can’t do just by changing settings in Firefox, and if Firefox doesn’t have any users those die right along with it.
I tried out Gentoo for a while, and just using binaries for the web browser and office suite made the compile times a complete non-issue. The problem I had that made me give it up was that when there is software you want that isn’t in the official repos there are a thousand different ways of getting it, and all of them suck. Overlays are supposed to be the solution for that, but man that experience was just awful.
I tried all kinds of things, but in the end all the options basically boiled down to risking breakage, maintaining my own packages, or not using emerge at all, which just feels like it’s defeating the whole purpose of being on Gentoo in the first place.
My approval is irrelevant. People do it, and people pay for it, so it deserves all the same respect and rights as any other work. No one’s value comes from my opinion of what they do to pay the bills, and it is not my place to tell people what sex “should” be.

That being said, they only solve problems that I don’t have. I do not care even the tiniest amount about whether a system is declarative or not, and I’m definitely not going to go out of my way to seek them out. If you want to call that “out of touch” then so be it.
Just because it sucks, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. The simple fact of the matter is that the statements “The Democrats are supporting a genocidal regime in Israel.” and “If Trump becomes president Netanyahu will destroy Rafah and expand the violence into the West Bank.” are not mutually exclusive statements. Taking a simple quick action to prevent one does not stop me from fighting the other. In fact, doing nothing to stop the worse case is supporting genocide. There will be more genocide if we all do nothing, and I have never seen any leftist actually suggest taking any action here on Lemmy. It’s never about doing anything. It’s always about what not to do. If that’s all you’ve got, then you’ve already failed.
