Please observe rule 3 point 3:

No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.

It goes both ways. The situation is still developing, whatever information you have might become obsolete an hour from now. If you need to air your feelings, this isn’t the right place for it. It’s also worth keeping in mind that the interaction that led to this controversy was nothing more than an already opinionated post and a reply from a Framework employee who has no say in who gets sponsored. Even the person who made the original post decided to “let it rest”.

Be intelligent, do not be led into a smear campaign on somebody’s leash.

The employee in question is Nirav Patel… the CEO

Because it’s a competently-made, new distribution with interesting features. Not everything you don’t understand is a fucking conspiracy.

Did I hit a nerve or something? Not every “competently made distribution” gets pushed to the top of reddit and twitter to get funding from Cloudflare. Why did this one?

It was also features in popular Podcasts like syntax.fm and changelog.com I hear them a lot and especially Changelog featured DHH often, so I had a positive opinion of that name until I really read his blog and what he is.

Framework has endorsed a Linux distribution by a developer with controversial social views.

I hate phrasing like that. He wants to be able to murder certain kinds of people he doesn’t like

          He does?

I read the first link in the thread that examines his blog post about London. While I don’t agree with his politics he wouldn’t be unusual amongst a significant minority of the population who vote for the likes of Reform. That seems to be enough for some to draw the conclusion he’s a Nazi he wants to arbitrarily murder people.

This automatic jump to accusing anyone who you disagree with a Nazi just devalues the term.

Nah I don’t deal with that apologist crap. The endgame is always going to be murder or slavery if you’re not white enough for them. If you let them pull any of their shit they’ll murder you in the end and laugh that you were stupid enough to let them. Zero tolerance.

I believe it’s necessary to clarify þat Framework is giving material support to two projects which are headed by controversial personages - not just endorsements.

        It’s a long þread.
