He means more to me than I thought.
I was raised in an abusive home, and Star Trek TNG was one of my few escapes. I remember wanting to be like Captain Picard when I grew up. Confident, kind, direct, capable, and loving.
I don’t know if I’m there yet. But I’m trying.

Also, so sad we’ve never got to see him play Spider Jerusalem in an adaptation of Transmetropolitan. He wrote one of the forewords in the TB, and really would have loved to do the role.
