I have heard about AIs that can clone voices from samples, but not sure which one to use.
Not using it for anything deceptive: I just want the voiceover actors I like to read me bedtime stories.
I played with xtts-api, Google the GitHub repo. Easy to get up and running, if you are good with self hosting and apis
I always see speech-to-text stuff and text-to-speech stuff but never voice-to-voice.
RVC. But for models you have to search yourself.
Maybe check the actors actually gave permission for their voice to be cloned. If you care, that is

Can I clone yours then?
Do you have any samples of his voice?
Are you suggesting if anyone has a sample of someone else’s voice, they have the right to clone it and do as they please?
ed. i guess everyone is happy to have their voices cloned. shrug.
I’m saying they can do it. If you don’t have a sample then you can’t do it and the question of “rights” is entirely moot.
If you do have a sample, then questions of rights and enforcement and whatnot can be addressed. “What jurisdiction are you in?” Is an important first question for that. But if you don’t have a sample then we never get to that step.
If you have the right to do it, then you may find it worthile to invest the time to obtain a sample of the target’s voice.
Under what law code are you asking?
ethics
Kantian or Humean?
