This is exaggerated. I seeded 500gb in the last 3 days and I use mullvad.
Port forwarding is not a strict requirement. The reciever can have open ports, and even if not, NAT hole punching often works.

Yep. Some people seem to forget about NAT Hole Punching.
Flohmarkt exists.
How long has “PewDiePie”’s linux thing been going.
I had a friend switch to linux about two years ago for no reason. And that friend is obsessed with pewdiepie. I hadn’t made the connection.
(The link on your post seems broken on voyager)
Switzerland. I’m using not a VPN per say but a proxy yeah. But it’s a really common one. The built in apple proxy using Apple servers.
Can you contact these users. Ask them if they posted that?
Safari ios. Thank you for the copy
I get blocked from these links I dunno why. It’s very frustrating.
Your correct. Lemm.ee’s ghosts will only live on in the instances around during it’s life.
Kind of like humans after they die. You still live on in the memories of those who knew you.
Sail into the sunset lemm.ee
You will be missed
Wow. This is by far the biggest loss I’ve ever witnessed on lemmy.
I totally understand it. It’s a shame it has to happen. Sending much love to the lemm.ee admins.
Also, generally, lemmy can feel very gloomy, there are a lot of fights and stuff as well. I know we can’t prevent this. But whatabout fostering a slightly less cynical culture? Lets compliment more, be slightly less snarky in our replies. Don’t only comment to criticise. Also comment to praise when you see something you like. :)
Can we self host alternatives?
Really! Recommend me some people! I see nobody who’se fediverse aware on my bluesky feed…
I somewhat agree. I think it’s fine people use usenet. But it’s not my cuppa tea. I’ll stick to torrents :).
also lemmy-federate.com does this automatically but you need to prompt it

Jellyfin is basically as easy to use as plex within the same network. I’ve set up both dueing the past 6 months. The only big difference is that Jellyfin is much more of a pain to work through port forwarding.
It shouldn’t need setup if you use a modern client.
My experience with seeding involves me having 80 or so semi popular torrents seeding 24/7. So that might be why. When my library was smaller or back when I opened my client only to download I barely seeded.
