For insurance to cover it the data tells them whether you are using it or not. If you don’t meet the minimum usage they won’t pay for the machine. Buying it yourself negates that, but they can get spendy.
Do not buy Philips.

Yes, and one of the reasons I want to keep it going. It’s an old Fujitsu and has a cool form factor (another reason). I recycled about a dozen laptops a few months back, but could not bear to see this one go. It came with XP, but I don’t care to reload that at all. Am also downloading older versions of Slack to see if they’ll work.
I have an old laptop with a Transmeta Crusoe CPU. Can anyone recommend a distro that will work on it? I’ll download this one and give it a shot too.
Scream, “Do you know who I am???”

Yes. The Great American Streetcar Scandal.
They were never really punished for this and I think this was a lesson learned by all that corps could do what they want without fear of repercussions.

Somewhat curious how CZ has never worked for you. I’ve used it for years and any failures it has had were fixed with tweaking some of the options. I love the tool myself, but I have also never heard of Rescuezilla so thanks for that. I think I’ll give that a go next time.

Yes and premium isn’t buying the app, it is subscribing at $40/yr. They do have a standard level of $20/yr.
To hell with all these subscriptions.

We’ve all been forced into this situation and the genie will never be back in the bottle. Freeze your credit. That’s the best thing you can do at the moment. Then hopefully others aren’t able to take advantage of your data.
