How does that work? I just don’t want to get the major nsfw and reddit reposting stuff in my feed

Lemmy is the only federated service I actually enjoy using. Just missing being able to block an entire @something instead of having to block every single community of it
and no I do not want to “choose another host that does block it”, it should be a user choice.
You haven’t posted anything about it here yet, share deets!
I never got why it was important to have “karma” tbh. Just encourages you to only post funny stuff or something the group in x community agrees with otherwise oh no you lose internet points 🫠
Upvotes on a comment are still internet points :p also this comment was just made as lighthearted fun not as something serious
Wish there was a way to easily poison the input
But sadly this’ll just be reality. The only thing we can do is either not use it or embrace it.
Legendary comment, take your internet points
Woah actually sounds interesting, and this is all possible just with adguard or how did you set it up?
I am looking into setting up Home Assistant once I’ve secure an appartement but it seems kinda complicated.
They still just block ads right? My issue with that is that it breaks certain sites and due to it being on router level I can’t just turn it off for that site (as far as I know, I may work in IT but I’m not thaaaat technical)
Its a great extra! Glad to be of help
I personally had issues with AdGuard as a DNS with quite a few websites breaking. I use Quad9 instead.
Same with a VPN at router level, I play games that are harsh on VPN usage and don’t want to get banned on those so can’t use it network wide atm.
I personally just learned automatic (had a deadline for my work, less risk this way) and the only downside is people complaining that I don’t have a manual license. “What if” is something you’ll keep hearing from people. I tried manual and it’d require me to do quite a few extra lessons and do ANOTHER exam so I’m just not doing it.
Honestly if you can, do manual. If it stresses you out too much, do automatic. Cars will go towards automatic/electric anyways so in like 10 years it really won’t matter anymore.
Even if you’re not pirating as ads from google can be dangerous as well: Ublock Origin + Privacy Badger + Decentraleyes + VPN
They fine people who pirate

First of all try accepting donations on your free software to get a bit of side income!
Secondly, look for companies that offer traineeships. I work in QA and basically any consultancy takes even non-IT people for their traineeship cause of the shortage we have.
Maybe something towards electrical engineering could interest you? Check for certificates/bachelors depending on how far you want to go.
As a sidenote, just try to get some sort of job even if not in IT. Being active in the job market makes you much more interesting to hire even if people tell you its not.
Ohh like that, yeah I don’t care as long as I don’t see them really. Never use block features anyways, mute is enough for me. Thanks for the info!!
