My parents installed “Net Nanny” to keep me from watching porn or spending too much time on the internet as a middle-schooler. (Trust me, they’re good and accepting parents.) Anyway, I figured out that all you had to do was not click “okay” on the startup-induced message window and Net Nanny never started the controls or timer.

Okay, actually though? Keep the mustache, drop the beard, and cut weight (fix your diet) and you would be killer. You look great now, but I can see an even hotter version of you in your future with just a little hard work.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Just installed mint yesterday, I get it nowEnglish
1·7 months agoI literally only use it when a how-to guide explains exactly what to do and why. Then I forget what I did and look up how to do it again six months later. I’m fine with this arrangement, though I will prefer to have to use it less.
No complaints so far! What did the reviews say? I’m using a 16 with the graphics module.

13·7 months agoDoes Framework sell a laptop with Linux pre-installed or do they only have officially supported distros?
I got a framework, which is built around quality parts, repairability, and upgradeability. Theoretically it’s the last laptop I will ever buy.

I didn’t know that! From the other comment, sounds like it’s basically fixed.
Nice, good to hear.
Does it still have that weird problem where you’re not allowed to modify surfaces because of the way you created them? Last time I tried using it, I couldn’t create a mirror copy of a shape and then edit the mirror. I could only edit the source, which then applied the changes to all the parts.

21·1 year agoA good number of these are examples where most people don’t actually know that the name comes from a town. I feel like they shouldn’t count.

11·1 year agoAny boot that can actually be resoled. You might pay a higher up front cost, but they will be worth the investment when you’re putting your third outlsole on them in instead of getting yet another pair of shoes.
Edit: also, the AK isn’t actually cheap to make, it’s just the US market was flooded with surplus guns no one wanted for a good while.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are the "AK-47" of items? (cheap, durable, just works)English
3·1 year agoThey’re just plain wrong about 1911s though. Those things have been surpassed many times over in every category that you would care about in a hand gun, including reliability. I know a few gunsmiths. They’re always fixing 1911 platforms, well beyond what your would expect for their popularity. Everyone always says “two world wars,” and they were a great gun for they’re era, but there’s a reason they got replaced.
CF being short for what, in this case?

21·1 year ago“The SBAT value is not applied to dual-boot systems that boot both Windows and Linux and should not affect these systems,” the bulletin read. “You might find that older Linux distribution ISOs will not boot. If this occurs, work with your Linux vendor to get an update.”
