Ah, so Google is taking the Microsoft approach to embrace and extend, but don’t share. Gross.
I’d happily recommend anything by Brandon Sanderson, I generally find everything he writes to be an easy read.
Also, get an account at your local library, it’s much easier/cheaper to fly through books that way. Tip: if your library sucks, many libraries will accept you as local if you work in the town. (I belong to two library systems this way)
I have to pay for my mental health.
You’ve just described an HOA.
Wednesday. It should always start or end a long weekend. (Of course this would be a paid holiday)
Being a theist makes you older? Damn.
Anyway, in this case, it’s the 39yo, because he grew up in a moderately well off family and landed a decent job after college. The 38 struggled with an undiagnosed learning disability their life, made it through college barely, and the jobs bubble popped as they graduated and the job market dried up.
Man, I remember when I was a teenager and it was cool to complain about anyone else’s joy. Makes me feel old thinking about it.
Sure I’ll get my Sega Genesis up and working, with a little projector in the trunk of my prius, but I think this will make traffic slower.
And instead of Wilson, it can be called Doc, or Dr Johnson. (Having a name like bad dragon seems a stretch, maybe baddra?)
In my mouth
Bucket of fries club.
I get this, I’m a dad, and I know that me time is wonderful, but I also know that if the house is in rough shape because I can’t do anything even if I wanted, that me time becomes an escape instead of a wind down, and the stress returns the moment the screen is off. Help with the house makes it so the relief lasts longer.
I’m in complete agreement, but with two broken arms, they aren’t going to be helping much with house chores (depending on how much mobility they actually have), and having those things done will actually allow for downtime.
Game thought: DDR?
Cleaning service, any house services really, freezer meals, or other little to no prep foods, offer to play with their kid from time to time, help them relieve stress by unburdening them (by taking on chores), instead of providing an escape (video games)
Edit: not dissing video games, but a young one and another on the way is a lot of stress already.
That’s completely untrue, you piece of beep beep boop!
I’ve got a different smart GE air conditioner, but it works with home assistant, through smarthq. They have a portable one (I dont know how well it does, just that it’s ‘smart’) https://geappliances.ca/en_CA/Air-Conditioners/GE-14%2C000-BTU-Smart-Portable-Air-Conditioner-White---APWA14YBMW/p/APWA14YBMW
I sleep on my army every night, makes my hands go numb in the morning. Sometimes I toss and turn and switch between which of my armies I sleep on…

So you’re saying my Dr Robotnik Lawnmower is bad for hedgehogs? What about foxes, or echidnas?
