The credit card company and everybody buying that data from them still does though, probably, which for me is the bigger concern.

Nixpackages or Flatpaks/Appimages(/Snaps 🙈) are a general solution to this (not in this specific case probably), no?
Yes, Arrs are the way: https://wiki.servarr.com/
MacOS being a bad example here since Apple only needs to make its OS work on a very small set of hardware that they control wheras Linux (and Windows, yes) need to work on probably hundreds of thousand if not millions of devices (including Macs 👌) with at least the same amount of peripherals combined in almost any imaginable way. That’s a completely different task.
Maybe check other players if they can display them correctly? Not sure if mpv can butt that’s what I’d try first.
Game is called Rollerdrome and their wish is my command!
Didn’t he start his “career” with showing a hack on how to get free dial-up internet on German TV for fame and thereby ruining it for everyone because obviously the telco “fixed” the hack after that?
Dang, I’m sorry to hear that 😿
Ah, ok. I’m amazed it still works at all, tbh (extracting data from Twitter, that is).
Not used this but it seems like a wrapper for YT-DLP for Android which I use all the time on the desktop:
YTDLnis (Android Video/Audio Downloader app using yt-dlp) https://f-droid.org/packages/com.deniscerri.ytdl/
If you’re into selfhosting (this is datahoarder after all) I recently got around to backing up my fav channels with
https://www.tubearchivist.com/
and it’s very good indeed.
Nitter still exists? Finally some good news!
I’ve been using https://github.com/haugene/docker-transmission-openvpn for years without issue because I could get my weird VPN to work with it (though the latest release seems to be from 12/2023 …)
My now partner for more than 15 years both met face to face (online dating worked for me) in a smallish town in Portugal for the first time (she was living in the UK, I in Germany) and on the first evening we both met former clasmates of ours that we hadn’t seen for years, it was kinda wild.
Not sure if get-iplayer is of any help here but for BBC it’s amazing (think you need a VPN outside the UK).
Exactly, never use social media (Acticity Pup, Insta, Tiktok etc) to organise activism, use it to comminicate with the pubkic, that’s what it’s made for.
+1 for Audiobookshelf, couldn’t be happier, Android app and website on mobile both work great.
Depends on what you want to use it for. As others have said Nextcloud is super popular, I’m also a fan of https://syncthing.net/ to keep stuff synced across devices
