  • Just to mention it again, through-wall is an option…

But, if overheat conditions are not that often, still might not be worth cost of installation.

Might consider a low-tech solution such as putting a bowl of ice cubes in front of the fan so the air passes over the bowl before hitting either you or equipment. 🤷‍♂️

  • Not certain it fits your requirements but I have an Ambient Weather 2904A weather station that doesn’t require WAN (unless you wish for the features available on the Ambient Weather site) and there is an Ambient Weather Station plugin for HA that provides all measurements of the station as entities directly in HA.

Oh, and the connection twixt Station Base and HA is WIFI.

Had this for several (many) years, 2904A likely not still available but certainly you can find a comparable current model. In fact, model 2902 appears to be an exact duplicate of what I have…

Personally, I prefer installation via the package manager… Saves some steps and I’ve not had a problem using this procedure since the 90’s…

AppImage is fine and all but there are some extra steps required to have that “app” appear in the OS menu and such…

And, as an old fuck, I’m not fond of referring to the software installed on my computer as “app”. It’s “software” or “a program”.

And, yes. Phone is also a computer and “app” is the appropriate word usage on that platform…

I know. Semantics. But it’s what I’m used to.

    🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

  • I don’t have anyone suggesting to me to follow hashtags. Just the indication that it’s a thing I can do if I want.

Given the number of hashtags I see in some posts (esp heavy hashtag users (whom I hate cause the post becomes almost unreadable)) I can certainly see the number of posts returned for any given hashtag could be instantly overwhelming.

I’ve never actually followed a hashtag so don’t have much to say about that… Other than perhaps that maybe has something to do with why I don’t feel overwhelmed on Mastodon. 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

I just handpick and choose entities (people/news sources) to follow.
