I think they (GOS) saw the writing on the wall, and this is why they’re now partnering with an OEM (Motorola) so that they are able to continue developing GOS without being kneecapped? I may be wrong, just my understanding

Up until recently, Debian on everything. Main PC/ laptop are running Artix (Arch minus systemd) and my servers are still on Debian
Really wanted to try the Debian version of mint, but unfortunately it’s systemd based

13·5 months agoRecently I’ll often get results that aren’t at all related to what I searched for. I also get a lot of timeouts from the upstream search engines, and sometimes I get results that are in Chinese for some reason

8·6 months agoOut of curiosity, what issues are you having with SearXNG? I’m self hosting and recently have noticed a lot of timeouts across many of the engines I have enabled. Just wondering if you’re having similar experience

0·7 months agoSo, these actually work great when IR is used (for example you won’t be able to unlock your iPhone when wearing them), however my question is, does this help at all when just a normal photo is taken? You can wear these, have a ‘normal’ photo taken and it just looks like you’re wearing standard glasses. That could then be fed through CV, etc?
Yeah, that’s a good point. For me it’s mostly family that is not very technical, so I’m not too concerned of them using a fork.
Poor security implementations that would become the weakest link in the security chain
Definitely. Capturing the messages isn’t my concern though as much as interacting with non authentic clients
Yes of course. Signal can archive messages and they can be restored, you can screenshot messages and you can have them backed up as part of a policy like icloud backups.
My question is more about how do you know you’re interacting with an authentic signal client, and not a bastardized one.

I get it from FDroid via the Guardian repo. No issues.
